Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
My RAcast still needs C7-9, how about other people? Is anyone itching to form some Challenge teams?

Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
If you're new to Challenge mode you can read my guides/FAQ/etc on the main site.

Ah, I really should start back into this. Only completed C-Mode with my main EU server character.

Mmmm Cmode.
BTW, how many people here can play Challenge on PSO PC? The cross platform bug in Stage 9 isn't fixed... so that makes it a bit of a problem to do the stages cross platform.

I've never played a challenge mode before and would love it if someone guided me through when I finally get logged on.
Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Hmm well if you read the Challenge mode section of my site you can learn all the basics beforehand. We might actually be getting enough people to form a team now...

Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Oh, this is too funny! Now I GOT to try this just to see it!
Q:I've heard people talk about graves, what are they and how do I see them?
A: When someone dies without a Scape Doll and causes a team to fail a stage, a grave marks the spot where they fell. The grave contains their name, the name of the team where they died, the enemy that killed them, the number of times they've failed the stage, and the final words the person said before they died. Mostly, graves are just kind of fun, especially the quotes you find on them. However they can serve one useful purpose, graves sometimes drop items. When you come across a grave you will sometimes find multiple Mates or Fluids on the ground next to it. Getting items is not guaranteed, but it does sometimes happen. Each character can have only one grave, if you fail a new stage your old grave is deleted from the last stage you failed and a new one appears in the most recent place you died.
I wanna challenge so badly
I read through the whole challenge section. Then last night I dreamed I was running around Forest 2 with some other hunters. I didn't dream that my game character was running around in the game, I dreamed that I was really running around in Forest 2! I told the guy/leader that "I may be a hunter, but I'll take the role of a force 'cause I don't quite know how to play the whole map/puzzle stuff yet." I asked him to tell me what to do.
Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Hmm... Well if we get you, me, and Amon, then we just need 1 more for a full team.

I just got my fiance all set up with the game. Now, if I can just convince him to play challenge with us. If not, I think I can get my boss, or another manager I work with, turned on to this game.
Does it really take about 7 hours to complete?! Also, when we play challenge, you'll have to tell us what to do or where to go 'cause you have the experience and know the maps better. Maybe set up your buttons to have preset instructions so you don't have to take time to type it out during game play.

Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Don't attempt to play Cmode if you're new to the game. You need to be very good with your weapons and familiar with the enemies to succeed in Cmode. If you're getting people started on the game, they should probably at least reach Vhard mode before trying Challenge, unless they want to be frustrated.
7 hours is the maximum time you can take to get S-Rank (6'59"00). A decent time is in the 5 hour range. A TA time is under 4 hours, give or take.

ah!
Sweet, I'll pass the word along. Even with the three of us so far, is it possible to just practice cmode? Are you guys up for that at least?
Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
I suppose, though I don't need practice. I made a big breakthrough on my project today so I'm a step closer to finishing. Now the question is whether it will behave for the rest of testing or if more problems are going to pop up.

Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
I just met a really nice guy while playing PSO. He gave me his email address so maybe I can convince him to join us.
Good luck with the testing thingy.
edit: Well, if you don't need practice, then perhaps you can train me because I need practice.

Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Hm, who? I haven't been on in ages.
Well I have... eh probably around 10 S-Ranks so I'm good enough that the term "practice" doesn't really apply to me anymore. That's not to say I can't get better, though.

He's tonito250. I met him on the HI (Hispanic?) ship this morning and played with him for a few hours. Say, I'm thinking about logging on in a few minutes. If you can, log on just to exchange guild cards with me.
Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Q: Is Challenge mode cross platform with Dreamcast and PC?
A: Mostly, yes. Stage 1-8 can be played cross platform safely... Unfortunately, Stage 9 is not properly cross platform. If you play through the normal route the stage can FSOD Dreamcast users or crash PC users, so it is not advised to play Stage 9 cross platform. (There's more information about this in the Stage 9 walkthrough.)
So, all we need to do is try to go the shortcut way and eveyone will be fine?
Also, I played the forest/dragon part of c mode tonight *yea, first time* and after defeating the dragon and going back to the guild counter, I was promptly kicked out into the visual lobby. I think you might want to explain to others to expect that in your faq/walkthrough because I had no clue that that was supposed to happen!
Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Well yes I think if you go the shortcut route you'll be OK, but doing that is very hard beacause you need 8 shields and 8 weapons to do it. That means at least you must find 4 shields and then everyone must give theirs up (a death sentence for the Force on Dark Falz...). If you don't find 4 shields, then you can't take the shortcut and you have to restart the stage over and over until you do. It's not very practical.
Um... what do you mean? When you clear a stage and talk to the Guild, she says congratulations you beat Stage x and your rank gets boosted and it shows you your times, then you go back the lobby. How is that abrupt?

Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
It's abrupt because I didn't expect it. I always thought that you play all stages of C mode in one sitting. I had no clue that you could play just one area and call it a day without any progress lost. That's why my fiance didn't like the sound of playing c mode for 4 to 7 hours; we didn't know we didn't have to do all those hours all at once.

Re: Anyone want some S-Rank goodness? ;)
Lol it didn't even occur to me that people might think Challenge worked like that. I'll look over the FAQ and see if I can clarify that as well when I put in the upcoming round of modifications.

Hey! I am new!
Since I'm kinda new still, might as well join your team Aleron! BUT WE STILL NEED TO TRADE GUILD CARDS!
Stasher, we have to trade again, switching my character over to this comp made all my guild cards go gone.
