Re: Dreamcast Update
Exactly as I expected then.Aleron Ives wrote:Anyway, I've tested EUv1 and it connects fine, the Guild pillar is solid, and I can target with Rafoie both online and offline, so everything seems to be in order, not that there was much doubt that EUv1 would be different.

That shouldn't be necessary. I made the CDI with BootDreams, and I've never heard anyone having trouble with the CDIs it produces. Also, I made a second CDI for my download page using the newer selfboot method, so if anyone has trouble getting a Dreamcast to boot the one BlueCrab uploaded to the Sylverant downloads page, you can try the one I made before reporting that the loader doesn't boot.Assuming BlueCrab used the older selfboot method (which I assume he did, since he usually does), his CDI would only theoretically be incompatible with the newest Dreamcasts.
Re: Dreamcast Update
Since neither BlueCrab nor I have thus far been able to replicate your problem, it's hard to tell. The codes and the loader apply the same patches. The only difference is that the loader also applies the fix for the maps, but since that doesn't influence Pioneer 2, it shouldn't have any effect on joining teams.mahkbooks wrote:I will try it again tonight, only this time using the codebreaker codes. Using Ives' ep disc, and the codes, I can both lead and join, no problem, using any dc. This way, I should be able to deduce whether its the disc, or the machine that is causing the problem. If it's the machine, it should also FSOD with the codes as well, right?![]()

Re: Dreamcast Update
You are right. I got the loader to work on all of my machines, even when not leading... it is intermittent though. Perhaps I need to let the laser warm up, or something like that. I'll just make sure to use my best drreamcast when using the loader. Thanks for your patience!

Re: Dreamcast Update
Go buy some CD-Rs, so you can burn the loader.

Re: Dreamcast Update
Having issues with the loader and US v2 GD ROM. The loader seems to run ok, but will not let me connect to the server. Is it because I am using a shared serial? Says I should check my ISP settings, but I can connect with autoconnect disc.

Sylverant PSO Patcher 2.0 Released!
Tonight, I have released version 2.0 of the Sylverant PSO Patcher. This new version is basically a complete rewrite and has a few bugfixes and new features, detailed below:
Due to that last fixed issue, it is recommended that all users update to the new patcher if they ever intend to play in Battle mode.
You can find the downloads on the Downloads page on the Google Code project. As with previous versions, there are downloads for the source code, plain files, and a self-booting CDI image.
- Added support for patching the hostname in and booting the PSO Network Trial Edition.
- Added support for patching in the music for the Palace and Spaceship stages into the main bgm table. This way, quests that use these stages in non-battle mode (Prospective Horizons on Altimira) can use the correct background music. This patch is optional. When you see the note about pressing Start for all patches or A for not patching the music, this is what is being referred to.
- Fixed booting of many import games that would not boot with the older version. This version still won’t boot Windows CE-based games, but it hopefully will work with just about any other game you throw at it, if you choose to use it as an import boot disc.
- Finally, and most importantly, this release fixes the issues with battle mode timing out immediately on all Dreamcast versions when using the patcher. No, there was never any bugs in the server with regard to this, which is why it worked for people that used PALv2 and didn’t use the patcher at all.

Re: Dreamcast Update
In order to keep the discussion organised, I've merged the 2.0 update topic into the old one. You can also get the loader CDI in the Dreamcast downloads section of the main site. Maybe this will renew people's interest in Battle mode?

Re: Dreamcast Update
Does this mean that you will have to release a new self-boot ep disc for dc? That would be much appreciated.

Re: Dreamcast Update
How about for the other features, like the music?
