ok for those having install issues like corupt data like data1.cab

ok so i downloaded the torrent file and unzipped it to to a file perfect so far then when i go to install i get this amazing eror message "error 1335. the cabinet file 'data1.cab' corrupt" ect now i did a recheck of my torrent and all seems fine im using magic iso as my default virtual drive now some lder games had "bad sectors built in to the disks as security now magic iso finds the bad sector and stops all install but many other higher end virtual drive/ burning programs know this and know how to read and what to do with them i figure that theres a bad sector in the iso because it belongs there now alcohol soft 120 just installed it like a champ were magic iso fell on its face buring programs might disregard the bad sector and write the disk with out it now the game looks for the bad sector and with out it fails so try with a better burn program that will burn the iso exactly the same way like you want to burn a copy of a cd and the cd skips at a point because of a scratch and the burned one in the exact 1:1 copy setting burns the skip then you have a winner any questions ill be keeping tabs and am willing to point in the right direction to a good burn program or virtual drive program just let me know ill be keeping post on the thread now there is a virtual drive program listed in the readme it will work fine for this install dont know about all game iso's but this one is just fine good luck happy gaming

well I did actually fail English all the way through school and had to go to summer school from 1st grade on up because of English. I’m sorry I’m a horrible speller and grammar isn’t my thing but I do know my way around the keyboard reasonably well when it comes to making the game install.

I stopped messing with it last night. Because it closed itself every time it went to load the actual game. It did fine in the opening menus. I'm going to play with compatibility for a bit and see what happens. ill most likely have it running by this afternoon but if any one has any tips i would like to hear them.

Ok for any like myself with a high end computer or laptop.
Now I was having trouble getting the game to fully load as said in the above post. I have since went you the autorun.exe and opened its properties and then went to compatibility. Then set it to run in compatibility for xp pro service pack 2. Then I also checked off “Disable desktop composition” fallowed by “disable display scaling on high dpi settings”.

The mandatory thing for any game in my opinion is to tell it to run as an administrator apply these lovely setting and watch the amazing change. because my laptop like to run things smother if it can run as admin and not have to stop as its trying to load the game and ask if its ok if the game modifies a file on my laptop.

I think I went over kill with knocking it down to run on this thing but I’ll let you know if I can bring back one of the options.

Either way I’ll still be keeping tabs on what is going on with this thread. So any questions at all about issues I will give them a shot and as they say in most of the help posts with easy questions RTFM and peoples posts.

I know this thread is about offering help unlike most threads so I hope it will stay close to the top of the forum to make it easy for the new guys to find and if anyone else has tips or words of advice other then learn to use a dictionary and spell check before you post please feel free to offer up any issue you have had and how you fixed it my hope is a complete thread for new guys that they can check out and just have to find right post to find the answer to their questions

Ok so either I’m trying to give help in too many words or I missed something. this is the second post that some one said some thing and didn't get what i was saying to start with.

The game works perfectly fine my laptop was working too hard at running it. I had to make my laptop think it wasn’t as powerful so it would run the game. The game is great but my laptop has high end graphics and a decent processor and reasonable ram. It’s a media laptop to tweaked for gaming it does great just need to make sure it doesn’t try to hard. Witch I did.

My download was perfect.

I’m not in need of help right now but I’ll take advice like any other.

I’m offering help to any after me that runs in to a problem like the ones my laptop gave me in getting it installed and running right.
been at making games work for over 10 years now i have advice and some tricks like i got looking through the download section and found a patch for 7 and vista guess what im running vista hence why it was playing stupid but i got it without the patch though and it says how i did it about

do people not get the forum thread that offers answers and not searching for them or is the concept to much to handle?
