Update
Just so you know, things are nearing completion. Ludicrous mode is finished, the item stat mod is finished (I should post up the final stats I used...), the item text for PC is fixed, and the shop quest is like 80% done. Mainly I just need to finish that and throw together a new Dreamcast disc, as well as alter the regular quests to give Photon Points so the shop quest can be used. Huzzah!

Awesome, looking forward to the release! though i dont think im gonna use ludicrous mode until i can stand a chance in ruins lol, but the item mod quest will be nice, maybe its already been said before but will s ranks be effected in terms of item percents as in being able to add them to s ranks?

Re: Update
That's not possible. It would overwrite your name if you gave them percents. S-Ranks don't need percents anyway; I powered them up to the point where they are as strong as if they had percents.
You're not going to install the EP, huh?

haha
If i could stand a chance in normal ultimate i would but until i level some more, i would get destroyed even with s ranks, unless they are strong enough for ludicrous mode, im thinkin about lvl 130 or 125 ill install it, by then ill probably have some really good gear for the new difficulty

Re: Update
S-Ranks are actually probably the best way to do damage, since they have high raw ATP and thus work equally well in all areas, whereas weapons with percentages are limited to just one. How do you plan to find new gear for Ludicrous mode without installing the EP? lol. That's the whole point of the pack; good drops are balanced by harder enemies, and harder enemies can be killed with better weapon stats, and better weapon stats are useful since new drops make those weapons findable. It's all tied together.MuCast wrote:If i could stand a chance in normal ultimate i would but until i level some more, i would get destroyed even with s ranks, unless they are strong enough for ludicrous mode, im thinkin about lvl 130 or 125 ill install it, by then ill probably have some really good gear for the new difficulty

well...
I was talkin about some picks and handguns, I could really use a good pick for mines as i have 3 for the other areas, and while I do understand that I'll find the rares on ludicrous mode, I'd like to see if I can beat falz before I use it, as Ive always wanted to do beat him on offline ult with current weps, after that i will most likely use the pack

Re: Update
Don't worry, beating Falz offline is easy. His swipe only does 940 damage and he has half as much HP.

Re: Update
Here's a question. At what point in my PSOPC career do you recommend that I apply the patch? If I recall correctly, Ruins are very close to being the same, so when I can do those alright?
Or even before, so I can be more challenged by the patch?

Re: Update
Well regardless, I still want to be able to do it, once I do that, then I'll apply the patch

The requirements for Ludicrous mode are essentially:furrypaws wrote:Here's a question. At what point in my PSOPC career do you recommend that I apply the patch? If I recall correctly, Ruins are very close to being the same, so when I can do those alright?

700 base ATP (800 is better for speed), Ver.2 weapons with 20% or higher (or S-Rank), Shifta/Deband/Jellen/Zalure level 14 or higher, and 450 HP. If you have those stats, you can survive online Ludicrous Forest and you can do damage. It's slow going if you're solo and if a Bartle criticals you you'll die in 1 hit, but it can be done. I know this because I created a test RAmar, got him to level 80, and then tried Ludicrous mode with him. I have 469 HP, 731 - 784 base ATP with a 150 POW Mag, level 15 Techniques, and a Red Slicer with 30 Native and Hit, a Red Mechgun with 20 Native and Hit, and an Ano Rifle with 30 Native and Hit. Red weapons are easy to get, and Ano Rifle is a prize from TTF, so these are all "basic" equips, and they allow me to hold my own as long as I'm careful. I didn't design Ludicrous mode to be impossible, just difficult. If you're playing in a team, you can definitely take on Ludicrous Forest at level 80, especially if you have a Force and a droid along for Technique and trap support.
Of course if I'm really desperate, I can use my Red Handgun to take down the enemies. It's actually useful now, as I made its special Devil instead of lollightning. Of course since Devil only activates 50% of the time, you can find yourself getting the smackdown if you're relying on it to hit and it doesn't.
