Offline without serials?

Can i play offline without serials? Or do i have to get them first?

Ok i just got my serials and now it says it couldnt connect. It says i need to check my ISP? Also whenever i choose offline from the autorun menu. It doesnt do anything.
EDIT: Got offline to work but i dont know the controls. I read a thread for making a controller work in the options menu. But i cant find anything like that.

Did you set the game to LAN mode?

I fixed it. It seems that i had the wrong online.exe.
