Re: Prospective Horizons
They do make great minibosses, lol. I had a lot of fun fighting them. Would be interesting to fight them in the super difficulty mode. xD
Is it possible to get S-Rank in the regular mode? Or does it have to be done in the insanity mode?
@Mag: Well, yeah. Strange Sightings pretty much gave you a free FS. I don't think Ives really cares about them being on a V2 Quest in huge numbers, considering rares don't drop in quests on this version.

Re: Prospective Horizons
The quest powers them up regardless, but they are even stronger in insanity mode lol.Wing wrote:They do make great minibosses, lol. I had a lot of fun fighting them. Would be interesting to fight them in the super difficulty mode. xD
You can get S-Rank without enabling insanity.Wing wrote:Is it possible to get S-Rank in the regular mode? Or does it have to be done in the insanity mode?
Exactly. Rare enemies need to be rare when you get something from them, but when all they drop is Meseta, it doesn't really matter. I also didn't want this quest to have the "token" rare enemy at the very end like SS did, which is why I attempted to integrate them at multiple points much like Mericarols and Gibbles are used in GC. They get powered up in every difficulty setting in order to make them more worthy minibosses.Wing wrote:@Mag: Well, yeah. Strange Sightings pretty much gave you a free FS. Re: Prospective Horizons
Well, Kaz and I found another bug. Unbeatable quest is unbeatable!
That's fixed now, and I made a few other tweaks as well.

Re: Prospective Horizons
Let me guess, you guys took the warp too early, locking yourselves in the room with the bridge, able to open the bridge and fight, but unable to leave because the door to the main palace room wasnt unlocked and there was no warp back...correct? Cuz that happened to me earlier today

Re: Prospective Horizons
So wait, the fact that MuCast and I made was because I didn't rush to a warp??? Fascinating...
Is the sidequest really as hard as I understand it to be?

Re: Prospective Horizons
Well Moop, the glitch I mentioned wasn't in the run we played, but the reason we didn't rush that warp I showed you was because the prior run was the one where that happened lol.
As for the Sidequest, I'll say its challenging but not impossible, though S-rank may be near impossible to get x.x
When we did our first run, I was using my lvl 121 HUmar with an S-rank Needle, Mag was using his lvl 141 HUmar with a Plantain Huge Fan and Red Slicer, and Wing was using Ren, who was lvl 188, and all of us were all one-shotted at one point during the time we played. So...yeah freaking hard to do deathless, especially given the "minibosses" megid ftl

Re: Prospective Horizons
It used to be far worse. You could get 1HKO even with level 30 Deband and Jellen in effect, hehe. The Sinow Reds also had the same DFP as everything else, and they healed 1,000 HP. It was impossible to get out of the first room, because you couldn't kill the damn Sinows.
...I decided it needed to be easier, lol.

Re: Prospective Horizons
Well found the two switches,
Although I still can't get the easteregg "mode" to activate. I know it has something to do with the FO in the principal's office, but she just says the same thing to me every time. What do I need to do?
- Spoiler:
- for anyone like me who hadn't found them yet there are two of them. They are at two dead ends, one that has item boxes and one that has a teleport. When you go in those two rooms and turn around you will see it over the entrance/doorway to the room.

Re: Prospective Horizons
If I did it on hard/normal, would that make it easier? or is it limited to vh and ult?
I sense 2hrs being set aside to hunt for its secrets.....
I'll find them eventually!

Anyone want to come online sometime and help me?
MAJOR SPOILER, DO NOT READ IF YOU PLAN ON SEARCHING YOURSELF!
- Spoiler:
- Ok, so.. After extensive playing on normal and vh, I think I found a connection. In the mines 1 comp, there is an "update" feature. That update feature says that VES can only be updated by an authorized VES technician. The FOmarl is an authorized VES technician. There is also a FOnewearl that talks about "PEZ." That's either a reference to a candy, or it's what happens when the FOmarl updates the simulator. Now, the problem I face is getting the FOmarl down into the mines in the first place. I think you need to kill all the monsters as shown in one of Ives's screenies, and then something comes from that. I must be missing monsters that appear in previous rooms. I have found some, but I'm stuck at getting only 413 monsters...
Anyone want to come online sometime and help me?

Re: Prospective Horizons
I decided to make an update for this quest. Here are the changes of interest:
- The quest now has a cancel switch. If you need to quit the quest for some reason, you no longer need to either finish the phase you're in or quit the game from the menu. The cancel switch will return you to Pioneer 2, at which point you can deposit your Mag in the bank to avoid losing Synchro before returning to the lobby. Using the cancel switch also only causes you to exit the quest; your teammates can continue playing if they wish.
- The quest now disables your weapon from dropping when you die. I documented the command that does this after this quest was made, so it wasn't present in the original version.
- The Healing Ring in Mine 1 is upgraded now.

Re: Prospective Horizons
Bug: a) When my mag hits 100% pb, I'm stuck with pb pallet even if I unequipp mag (shows no pbs). If I change mags, I see the other mags pb.
b) As soon as I launch pb, I get stuck in the 'rainbow' screen 4ever. I have to wait a few minutes for a monster to hit me, which doesnt always happen as they constantly miss their attacks. I dont know why, maybe they think Im still doing the pb. Funny thing happens, when they kill me and I return to p2, not always can I recover my lost meseta, it simply vanishes.
I know I could always hit the cancel switch, however I havent tested it.
