Question about cross platform Empty Question about cross platform

Post  stasher Fri Apr 18, 2008 4:40 pm

Okay, so I want to start an online game and it asks Ver 1, Ver 2, GC. If I choose the GC, will that mean that GC and DC will be able to play together with me? Or is DC/GC and my PC never going to happen? And Ver 1/Ver 2, that only reffers to letting DC people in? Question

Ver.1) Allows Ver.1 users to see and join the team as well as PC and DC Ver.2 users. Compatibility between Ver.1 and PC isn't the best, but it works.

Ver.2) The most stable mode. Only PC and DC Ver.2 users can join. Compatibility is 99%.

GC) Allows PC, DC Ver.2, and GC players to join. The worst compatibility mode, and also of questionable legitimacy since the games are completely different and not supposed to be able to interact. Beware of FSOD and other bugs.

The worst compatibility mode

Yeah, I've see one thing happen so far: they couldn't see my telepipe.

You can't target each other either AFAIK, you can't revive people when they die and maybe you can't S/D or Resta them either.

lol actually I've gotten buffs to work just fine... they dont port with you to boss though, to fix this all you have to do is let the gc player(s) in first and press Yes to go to boss battle. Then when the v2 players come in they'll all warp. However, I did this with Dark Falz and they disconnected at the boss cutscenes... >_>

Yeah, I've encountered a few disconnects with GCers at bosses, too. Crying or Very sad

Unfortunately the games were never designed to play together, and some bugs cannot be fixed since enemies have radically different stats. While stuff like being able to Reverser each other could probably be fixed, it isn't really worth the trouble for Crono IMO.
