Play time indicator
I recently read on this forum that time played can have an effect on items drops (Spread needle only after 1000 hours, i remember reading)
Is this true?
If it is, i'm at a big disadvantage, because for some reason, my play time keeps changing strangely. I'm level 72, must have played between 40-60 hours, but it currently says 21:24 Sometimes it goes down after a game, sometimes it doesn't change at all
It happened on my new character that i made too. I played a couple of hours and got to level 7. Next time i went on the game it said play time: 00:01
Does it only count online play? If it does, it still doesn't explain how my play time went down

Re: Play time indicator
The counter in PSO PC is broken and tends to lose an hour randomly. The main thing that seems to cause it to have problems is patching your exe; I've found that setting the exe to read only and not modifying it tends to help, but the only things you can do are avoid patching the exe as long as possible and eventually it may go away. Also, try not to log on for less than one minute and log off again.

I don't know if I can be of much help but...
I had this bug for a long time, and setting pso.exe to read only didn't help me. I tried many things to get it to go away and nothing worked. I remember reading somewhere that it just goes away eventually, I didn't believe it at the time. It did go away after a while though after maybe 100-150 hours, my play time indicator stopped subtracting an hour upon quit game and it started working all of a sudden, I have no idea why. I don't believe that it just goes away by itself, I must have done something. Maybe it does?
When I got it to work again, it was after a completely fresh installation (following Aleron Ives' readme) and I didn't bother setting pso.exe to read only again assuming that it wouldn't go away because I had reinstalled pso over 9000 times before trying to fix this bug. I also replaced the backup folder with my characters and I first launched pso after the installation using deathrabbit's BB loader. I didn't notice my time indicator started working again until after a few logins/outs.
tl:dr- Wait it out, after a while the bug may disappear. Apparently other people have had it fix itself but I don't think I did something to get my time indicator to work correctly again .

Re: Play time indicator
Maybe its because i am still using the autorun2.exe and not the online.offlinepatch.exe?
Its the only thing i can think of. By the time i got my key for the online, i had already started an offline character using the autorun2.exe, and for some reason it didn't carry over when i ran the game using the online.offlinepatch.exe.
Could this be the problem? What file is everyone else using to launch the game?

Re: Play time indicator
I use deathrabbit's loader, and Gilgamesh is right. There is no fix and it goes away on its own if you just don't mess with the game files for a long time.

Well i've only had the game less than 2 months, and the last thing i did was the mouse patch for windowed mode. I hope it clears up after a while
