'OMGYHGTBKM' story!! (That means Oh My God You Have Got To Be Kidding Me)

Okay, so my parents caught me playing PSO about... lets say, 3 times. Well, one day (one week before my birthday aproximately) My dad caught me and asked where I got the game. I could still feel the guilt that my sister could easilly make me have, (she even took advantage of it) and couldn't take it anymore. So I told him that I downloaded it, and got grounded from everything for 6 days. He made me uninstall PSO on his computer, and almost had me remove it from this comp. The offline one I'm good though.

So now, I have to sneak rounds of Online PSO, which is the only mode I play on this comp. I can still play offline on the offline comp, so I can still play. But if I take anymore pics, it might have a cost if my parents catch me doing it online. So, *hopes that i can see aleron and stasher online again* i will still be online, just with a shorter time slot. Oh gosh, what is gonna happen next, I wonder...

I'm so sorry. As moral as my parents are, they let me get away with "attaining" certain pieces of data because it is too expensive to attain otherwise and needed to complete school work. Or, the data could just be "lying there" and I would happen to pick-it-up in a way to where nobody could trace it back to me. (I don't download music off of the internet unless the artist themselves say I can. Band Called Pharasee and Fisher are two that I know of)

As for PSO and other related items, unless you can buy your own SEGA-made copy, there shouldn't be that much anger/punishment toward downloading something that you can't buy from the origial maker anyway. See if there is a PSO PC game for sale on eBay. If there is, tell your parents that you're more than willing to work chores to buy it. If there are no results, then show your parents that it is a difficult disk to track down and that the ONLY ways that you can play the game is to download it or to have been born sooner so you would have had a chance to buy the disks the proper way.

It's impossible to buy an American copy of PSO PC in the first place, such a version doesn't exist. The game was released in Japan, China, and Korea only. I have a legitimate retail copy of the game because I imported it from Japan.

There ya go, tell the P's that it is impossible to get the PC version in the USA and that it's such an old game that... that... it's public domain now. Other people aren't making money on you downloading it, so, SEGA isn't getting hurt. They aren't even making that version anymore. (Is PSO PC public domain yet???)

Copyrights last for seventy years or so, there are no videogames in existance that are public domain. Video games haven't existed long enough for any of them to have had their copyrights expire AFAIK. Some of them though have had the companies behind them release the source and such, so they've become abandonware and can be distributed freely.

Guys, you don't have to worry that much. I'll be back online freely soon, anyway. (My dad's getting a wireless internet card for me, and I'm gonna get this computer (the 'online' computer, as my parents call it) in my room, so I'll be able to be online without sneaking soon ) Expect me online a little today, though.
