Hey, I was just thinking if a Japanese translation of the quests are possible??
It looks like there are some more Japanese players coming to sylverant now, and some of them that I've talked to were desperately requesting a Japanese translation. I would give all the help I can Smile

I was talking to Nora about the same thing, because I also noticed the increase in Japanese players. BlueCrab already put code in place to let Sylverant support quests in multiple languages, but we've been delaying the transition to the new system, because it's such a pain to deal with tons of quests in multiple languages. We already have all of Sega's quests in Japanese, but the main problem that I have is if I enable Japanese quests, Japanese players won't be able to get Photon Points anymore, unless they play the English quests. I had to go through and modify the English quests one by one to add Photon Points, but the Japanese logs don't have that code in them. As such, you'll only get Meseta when you beat them. I've been delaying, because I didn't want to have to deal with adding PP to a dozen quests in half a dozen different languages, and until recently, everyone still playing PSO spoke English at least as a second language.

Now that more Japanese players are coming, I think I will try to to make the necessary modifications and upload Sega's quests in Japanese with PP included. For the time being, I'll just leave the other languages as English until more players show up who speak Spanish, French, German, Korean, or Chinese. Laughing At least then I won't have so much work to do all at once.

How many players have come so far? Were they former Izakaya players? Nora told me you have work in the mornings, so you can't join us when we all play. Find a new job immediately! Razz

I don't have time to work on this right now, because at this moment I'm actually trying to fix a bug in PSO itself. Manually editing pso.exe byte by byte is a slow and tedious process, but I think I'm 3/4 done now. I'm really hoping this works... bounce

Cool, its not a rush, so take your time with dealing with the other bug Smile
As far as I know there are about 7 players from Japan including myself.
Nora, Mimi, Nana is former scht player.
I know another player who was a former BB player, and since the service was put down, he came to sylv.
Not sure about the others though.

As for the job, it sucks, but I have to stick to it since I don't think its easy to find another one with the economics and all being so bad recently in Japan.

Even though, I will try to join up with you all westerners on weekends Smile
