on the PC version it depends on how you go about taking a picture. pressing ctrl+printscreen, fn+printscreen, or alt+printscreen, or just printscreen (depends on the keyboard and where printscreen is, I'm on a laptop and have to use fn+printscreen lol) will take a screenshot, but if you're playing windowed, you have to go into microsoft paint and paste the screenshot in there and save it. In fullscreen the screenshot will save to a folder in the directory where you installed the game files for PSO in what I remember is the backup folder, though I'm not sure if I remember exactly on that.

Re: How to get a screenshot
For some reason, screenshots never came out right, or well on pso's side anyway. I use Fraps with the printscreen key to capture screens, it really it helpful (and yes I am running windowed also.) I heard that there is a loader which you can use with windowed mode that will take screenshots without Fraps, but i'm lazy so no
Re: How to get a screenshot
The built-in screenshot function dumps the backbuffer to a file when it takes a screenshot, but only full screen applications have a backbuffer. That's why it doesn't work in window mode. If you press the PrintScreen key, you'll see a flash and hear a camera noise, and your screenshot will be stored in the Backup folder where your character data and downloaded quests are.
