Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
So here's a question that I don't think has been presented on this forum, or maybe it has and I just haven't found it. I think it's something that most people really don't think about too often, but, what is your favorite Phantasy Star song track? It could be from any Phantasy Star game...From the Genesis onward.
Since I've only played V2, I have 3 tracks I like 2 of them I even use as ring tones on my phone (and the in game mail notification sound for text ^.^)
I happen to like:
A Song for Eternal Story (main menu)
Mother Earth of Dishonesty (Pt-1) (Forest)
and
Revolution to the Origin (Pt-2) (Ruins)
Those three just appeal to me for some reason. The first two are fairly relaxing, and the third just gives you a sense of fight or flight...Pretty sweet...Anyways, share your favorites!

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
Rose Confession would probably be my favorite, just because I'm a sucker for piano and violin arrangements and its just relaxing to listen to. To be honest, I don't really listen to the Pso BGM when I play anymore, usually I have my own music/arrangements that I like to play when I have the game up and running.
That being said, my favorite v2 track would probably be the final battle music against Dark Falz. The first time I fought him on ultimate with my Humar offline and won was the first time I really payed attention to the music, it has a melodic intent similar to that of the ruins theme but it always makes the Dark Falz fight something special. Still have to work on getting my Foney up high enough to be able to survive offline and online too xD.

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
For some reason I HAVE to play with the games BGM, the only real exception to that rule is when I'm playing a FPS with friends. Otherwise I just don't get the tone and feel. I dunno, it's weird.

Yeah I get what you mean. Personally, I have a thing with having a game fit my standards. If it doesn't I make it so it does, usually involving mods. For me it makes the game more personal by using a mix of my own stuff and the game itself and more enjoyable when I play it. But there is definitely something to be said for playing the game with all of the contents the way the developers intended it to be.

Well, it would be interesting to say the least, though for L4D I have a playlist somewhere for that game xD

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
If I had to pick only one, it would probably have to be A Longing To Ancient Times, but I love almost all of the music in PSO. I guess listening to it day in and day out for ten years can make it kind of endearing, lawl.

Going of the BGM Test Menu in PSO
The Nearest Place to the Heaven Part 1
Cry for IDOLA the Holy
Can Still See the Light
The Whole New World
And if I am playing Prospective Horizons, "Open Your Heart" always. I don't know why.

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
TBH, PSO's music never really interest me. in fact, I got annoyed at it. Ep1's music does seriously annoy the fuck out of me. It wasn't till Ep2 when CCA music was pretty good and relaxing. Ep4 IMO probably had the best music to offer.

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
Oof. That's a good question.
My favorite would probably be "Cry to IDOLA the Holy".... the 3rd Form 'Falz's music. 2nd favorite is The Nearest Place to Heaven Part 1", which is just before the Darvants show up.
Least favorite? The Cave's battle music.

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
My Least Favorite Battle Music is the caves, My least Favorite Boss, the HP whore in the caves, least favorite stage, again the caves. Notice a pattern here? I don't like the caves or that much about them. However I agree the boss music for the HP whore is awesome. Its the ONLY thing I like about the caves...expect when they are over.

Oddly yeah I do. I heard original Space Harrier main theme and I was like "win." However I played that radio once on my PSP and I immediately lost interest. I only use PSP for MP3s. I wouldn't surprised if there is PSO in their radio.

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
yeah you have my vote on the gave hatred. Everytime I play it, I dread it. Not a big fan of the BGM either. Makes me wish I can cheat and skip it entirely.Rylin wrote:My Least Favorite Battle Music is the caves, My least Favorite Boss, the HP whore in the caves, least favorite stage, again the caves. @Wing: ha I know you couldn't stop talking about it since the last time we played, last time I was on it was back to normal. I never like the pioneer music that much though

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
I used to hate Cave, but since Ludicrous mode, it's actually my favourite area now. It used to be really boring with all the long maps and weak enemies, but now that they put up a fight, I actually enjoy it more than the other areas. It has a nice variety of enemies and a good atmosphere, too. It's just a pity that the BGM is more like ambience than music, at least for the peace half. The battle half isn't that great, either.

Ditto. I'm so glad it's an option (then again, SA(DX) is my #1 fav. game...)
My favorite PSO BGM is definitely De Rol Le's battle theme. I even swapped it out for the lobby's music for a day when I was fiddling around with PSO PC.

Re: Your favorite Phantasy Star Track.
I have a few that I like, but can't really pick a single favorite. XD
I love A Longing to Ancient Times and every variation of it.. except Part 2 is a little disappointing compared to the original Versus.
Tricktrack part 2, Revolution to the Origin (both parts), Nostalgia in Solitude part 2, almost everything in EP2. XD
