Ps3 controller
Hello, I'm currently using my ps3 controller to play pso but i find that it would be much better to be able to use the analog stick to move rather then the d pad.
Is there anyone who has come across this same problem and knows of a solution?
Thank you.

Re: Ps3 controller
Doesn't the Dualshock 3 have the analogue toggle button on it that lets you swap the joystick/directional pad controls? If it doesn't, there may be no way to change it, unless it has special drivers that let you make the change.
Re: Ps3 controller
Thanks for the help, i went into my motionjoy gamepad tool and i was able to find a way to change it.
User error on my part haha...
Anyways, thanks for the help and I look forward to investing a large chunk of time into playing this game.

Re: Ps3 controller
I do use a ps3 controller and before i switched from x86 to x64. magically i somehow could use the second analog, but i don't know how to do it again. Are you using motionjoy? because that is what it use, and im sure you can switch between analog and d-pad (As Ives stated) although you might only be able to use on or the other.
btw Ives, you can't call it dualshock 3 since there are two ps3 controller models, one with and without it
edit: ahhh i was beat too it...

Re: Ps3 controller
I was under the impression that there were two PS3 controllers, the first being the lame boomerang thing that everybody hated but Sony had to use at first because they didn't license rumble technology. Once they got the litigation taken care of, I thought they released a Dualshock 3 with rumble that was the same as the other two, and that's what everybody uses now because of the aforementioned suckage of the first one.
Re: Ps3 controller
well in honesty and in my opinion, it would be ps3 dualshock 3 > ps3 original > dualshock 2 > gamecube > 360 controller.
no one wants a big bulky control that had buttons literally click or having to pay for a wireless battery (oh and having to pay for a wireless receiver for the computer) << 360 controllers. The ps3 original controller (Without dualshock 3) isn't really all that bad, Aiming with it is just as good as the newer models and it's really light (lighter than my phone actually).

I would love to use a PS3 Controller but fuck that.
PS2 + Adapter to connect controller to pc is much much cheaper than a PS3 Controller.

I traded my 360 controller with my friend... And i got that controller for $59, then again the ps3 controller was worth it.
Re: Ps3 controller
It hasn't failed, but the X button has lost almost all of its play, and the square and circle buttons are starting to catch up to it. The joystick also tends to stick in the forward position instead of being centered when it's not in use.

Me too, albeit a wired one! You can set it up to be exactly like a dc one.

Re: Ps3 controller
The in-game options menu has a screen to let you map your controller buttons. As long as PSO recognises the controller, that's all you need to do. The only limitations PSO has is that the controller must be connected before you launch the game, or it won't see the controller, and the controller may need to have the "analogue" button that PS2 controllers have to swap the joystick/d-pad functions. Depending on which method is the default for your controller, you may end up with the d-pad controlling movement and the joystick controlling the menus until you switch to analogue mode.
