Banned from the server

I am writing this topic to express my dissapointment with schtserv, I'm just fucking pissed off.

I haven't played PSO in a while... although I decided to connect and either pso pc/bb when I reach the lobby and select a ship, I get an error message saying I've been banned from the server.

I mean... wtf? I'm legit and have done nothing wrong, what's this all about? How can I restore? What a hassle..

I sent Leona a PM a few days back and still no reply.... can't play PSO, god damnit.

Still didn't try the DC/ GC versions, but I believe this was an IP ban, so they shouldn't work as well.

I've heard (hopefully BS) threats from Lee to ban certain large areas because many players from there just can't seem to read a simple list of rules. >>

The only problem with that is, it would ban innocent people from the server too.

Based off of Lee's chatlogs, and after doing some googling, I think the isp is netcabo or something... http://www.ostamyy.com/ISPs/Portugal.htm

You'll need to sign on with another platform to verify if it's an IP ban. I wonder which range you share with someone else...

Moopthehedgehog, I must say I'm impressed with your research, you're right, netcabo is my ISP and actually it's one of the biggest networks in Portugal...

I know Kireek, I have his messenger adress, and one day he showed me how to login on PSO even with his IP blocked. He picked some random worldwide IP service from the web and subtly changed his IP to something else from another country.
This guy will never stop, banning the whole country is useless, really.

I don't know what are the admins of the schtserv thinking, but seriously, what's the point?
I bought a BBA for the dreamcast a while back to exclusively play on this server, and I spent a lot of money on it.
I also bought a PSO+GC+KB+BBA, last xmas, just to play on this server...
I've been one of the beta testers for the BB, when schthack was still around and it wasn't public released yet..
Been playing this shit since the oficial Sega DC servers...

And this is how I get paid off?

Thanks ives, moop, evil, mu, aurelli and everyone for your efforts on trying to solve this problem, however it seems we've reached a dead end.

Lee's not stepping back.
He's not giving up the fight against Kireek. You know what, he's still the chosen one, the "superior" who's leading Schtserv alongside with Crono... and at the end of the day, we're all just their puppets, playing for free on their fancy server.

I don't need to take orders from anybody, and I'm not going to humiliate myself begging anything to him. There are already quite a few people who sell themselves...
If Schthack was still around, I am sure this would never have happened. He was a fair man, I had the pleasure to exchange a few PMs with him. He cared about his players, he was the greatest boss we could ever have had. What a shame this server has come to in the last few years...

It seems the only option is to get a new isp, but... there may be something else. I need to sleep on it, though.

Meanwhile, you could try doing something like using a free dialup isp (like netzero or juno in the USA using the guide on youtube) or something.

Really a shame, I mean, I'm all for banning people who just cause unnecessary drama. It would be much more preferable if players from that area were able to send a request to be able to log on, but the entire process in and of itself just causes more problems.

You'd be surprised how many guides I found by googling. I just would make sure it is okay (run it by Ives) so you don't get unnecessarily banned.

Last time I remember him talking about it, he said he had gotten bored of v2, and on top of that its not like it matters, im fairly certain that the gms are aware of the blatant flame wars instigated, even apso is dead and has been dead for a little while save the occasional random topic, push comes to shove, we get one cool player with one annoying player.
