I am playing the v2 Enhancement Pack, and I loved, but I have a little issue with this game: Here on my console, the game froze at the quest "Magnitude of Metal". I tried with another character, but it always froze after getting the MAG, and the CD-R isn't scratched or anything...

Before picking up the mag, try returning to pioneer 2 first. Then try again. This works for me. Good Luck

If that strategy doesn't work, the problem is documented in section 4 of the Readme. CD-R copies of PSOv2 can't load character data outside of Pioneer 2 without freezing most of the time. You have to use a GD-ROM to play the offline quests (and Challenge mode) reliably.

Question, does the game still have to contact Sega before it plays online?

No. The Hunter's License check is disabled in the Ver.2 discs, so they only request sylverant.net when they connect.

I found that you need to telepipe up, do all your stuff at the store, telepipe back down, then resume the quest. I think it has something to do with the power bar not at 0. But you may have to keep trying this. Eventually, it will work. At least you don't lose anything but the exp. for the FSOD.

I am playing the v2 Enhancement Pack, and the game froze at the quest Magnitude of Metal, but I found an easy way to bypass it, I just need to use a telepipe as close to the mag as I can without touching it, and then I touch it and press A as fast as i can, the game doesn't freeze right away, it takes about half second, and its enough time to teleport back to Pioneer 2 and finish the quest, but there's no bypass for the Gran Squall freeze, so there's my question, I've found a jp v2 gd pretty cheap on the internet, but I don't know if I can load my saved character from us v2 Enhancement Pack on the jp v2 gd, finish the Gran Squall quest, save the game and load it on us v2 Enhancement Pack to continue playing throughout the rest of the game?

You can do that, but because the GD-ROM won't have the patches, you may not be able to use the same items you normally use, weapons may have different special attacks than you're used to using, and so forth.

Thank you for the quick answer, and as long as I can play the broken quests, theres no problem if some of my equipment have different status during the quest, as long as everything goes back to normal when I come back to the Enhancement Pack.

Seed this please. Btw, here's a noob question... can I use PAL v2 save with US ep?

Saves for PSOv2 work with any region once they've been online. You only need to use a disc that matches the region of your serials when you want to bring a new character online for the first time. PSO will ask you to confirm your serials when you select online mode, and the disc will refuse serials that don't match its region.
