Anyone else?
Anyone else pick up a hp touchpad? Mine comes on le 29th of aug and I can't wait to put ubuntu on that bad boy, gonna get closer to my linux side again.
Re: Anyone else?
Why would you buy a product immediately after the manufacturer discontinues it? Considering it won't be supported anymore and nobody's going to spend time developing software for it, that seems rather pointless.
Re: Anyone else?
There's already a group of people working on porting Android to it. If they manage to succeed, it'd be about the cheapest Android-based tablet on the market (that would actually be worth using -- I'm not counting any of those knockoff pieces of crap that you could get on dealextreme or the like).
That said, I'm certainly not going to go out and buy one, regardless.

Re: Anyone else?
I really don't care about android being ported, nor does it matter that HP is discontinuing webOS, as long as I have FULL FLASH SUPPORT i'm pretty much happy, especially for $150 inc shipping, rather 150 than 500-600. Since the demand for these things rose fairly quickly, homebrew/community will most likely keep it alive for 2 years + or so.
Hey I even get 50gb filestorage from Box for free, not only will I be able to connect the my box account from the Touchpad itself, I can also mount it as a network drive for windows, who knows then that'll come in handy.
I personally dislike tablets, but I couldn't pass up the deal either.

Re: Anyone else?
After the iPad started, I believe all the new fancy Tablets are all terrible and rubbish. Limited OS and such.
I mean heck the ones I am after are the old (PC) Tablets that has Windows XP installed for the price of 200$ to 400$. And you can pretty much do anything with those. Or you can even install other OS in those too.
But then again how much can you do with Ubuntu installed in that?
