Hey all! This thread is dedicated to PSOv1 tricks (no cheating codes!) that this first version has to offer us.

Extra Costume Colors
To get extra costume colors while creating your character, enter the following names for your class. Hit (B) to go back after entering the name and you will be able to select 2 extra costume colors!

Glitches

Walk through blocked doors
This glitch can be exploited to walk through any blocked door or obstacle in the game. Unequip any weapon you have so that your character uses only the punching and kicking attack. find a blocked door and place your character so its back is against the wall and its frontside is facing another wall so that he cannot move forward, now use the unequiped characters 3 stage attack

When the character finishes the 3 stage combo he moves backwards a short distance , even if your characters back was completly parallel against the wall , keep using the 3 stage combo and eventually you will have completly made your way through the door

Note: This trick is hardest to pull off on the forest stage

Note 2: The trick can also be used to avoid all the back tracking needed to unlock the ruins stage

Secrets

Browse the Internet with the built-in browser.
Select the ''Website'' option, when the browser pops-up press and hold the (START) button and press the (A) 10 times(both at the same time), after you do this the full version of PSO becomes unlocked, but you will have to do it each time you want to use it. After you unlock it use the following commands:

URL Input: Hold X and press A (on the lower bar)
Save a Pic: Hold X and press A (on the picture)
View History: Hold X and press Y
Bookmarks: Hold X and press B

Camera Trick
To view your teammate's camera views while in the areas (Forest, Caves, etc.), simply have a controller plugged into Controller Port 3, then on that controller, press and hold the L and R Triggers, then press Up on the D-Pad. If done right, your view will change to a view of one of your teammates.

Extra Character Animations
On your Dreamcast keyboard, hold down the Alt key and press any of the F-keys (F1, F2, ...F12). Your character will perform an animation.

NOTE: This only works in the online lobby; it doesn't work offline or in an online game.

Screen Shot
For this you need an extra controller, aswell as a VMU with 195 free blocks on it. Plug the 2nd controller in to the 4th socket (D) with the VMU in the 2nd slot of this controller. Get to where you want to take the screen shot, then hit X, Y and Start simultaneously on the 2nd controller. You should now have an image in that VMU.

Rotate Characters on the Win Screen

Useless, but amusing. When you defeat Dark Falz online and see your team on the win screen, the green gem player can press L/R on his controller to make everyone's characters rotate in their poses.

TP Trick

It's possible to restore another player's HP and TP this way, all you need is Resta Lv.3 or higher, and Reverser. Get within targeting range of the player you wish to heal, and open the main menu and go to Techniques->Heal and put the cursor on Resta to target them. Quickly press Up+A at the same time on the D-pad to swap from having the cursor on Resta to having it on Reverser. You'll use Reverser while the player is still targeted, restoring their HP and TP.

PB Trick

Another classic trick, this lets you fill a teammate's PB meter. All you need is Resta, Anti, Shifta, or Deband of Lv.3 or higher (Resta is generally used for this trick), and Zonde, Grants, or Gizonde. Place Resta on R+B on your Action Pallete, and place Grants on B. Hold R to target a player with Resta, and quickly release R and press B at the same time. If you time it correctly, you'll use Grants on the player while they are still targeted with Resta. This will raise their PB, but they won't take damage. You can also use Zonde, but it will fill PB much slower because it's a weaker spell. Gizonde can also be used to hit multiple teammates at the same time. You can also use Rafoie, but it doesn't raise PB. This trick is hard to pull off, timing is key.

WARNING

Be careful when you use the PB trick. NEVER use it on someone who is near a pipe. If you PB someone as they enter a pipe so that they don't see the spell as they are leaving, but instead see it hit them as they enter Pioneer 2, they will FSOD.

FSOD Yourself

The most random glitch ever, but a classic nonetheless. If you want to FSOD yourself for fun, either compose a Simple Mail to someone, or edit your Guild Card comment field. Simply hold the lowercase letter "L" key until you fill the entire field with llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. Then, press enter to send the Mail/save your comment, and you'll FSOD. n.n

Kewl. Here's some more...

Uber PB

Gain PB (it doesn't matter how) until you reach 100 PB and you can use a Photon Blast. Once you have 100 PB, take off your Mag. Your PB will drop to 0, but if you look at your second pallete, it's blank. Equip your Mag again, and you'll see your PBs are back on your second pallete, but you still have 0 PB. You can now use your Photon Blast with 0 PB and do MASSIVE DAMAGE!!!

Not-so-godly God/Battle

Not really a glitch you can control, but a glitch nonetheless. Sometimes God/Battles stop working and you go back to being slow for no reason. Simply dequip and requip the unit to restore your speediness.

Will this work in an offline quest with an additional character roaming around, such as Bernie or Kireek?

I've never tried, though I would guess it won't work.

I gotta try that frozen shooter trick, sounds fantastic!

Back in the days, I used to equip an unequipable weapon with a force char I used to have, by "running" with the dpad through the menu, and randomly clicking on the A button. It happened to unbelievably equip! I never had the chance to do it again. I didn't see any report of this so far, and maybe this is the first time I am talking about this... good old days.. PSO sure is a legend.

Yes even Casts can do the TP trick To do this you must have a STAR ATOMISER and at least 2 MOON ATOMISERS. Configure your item list so that the MOON ATOMISER's are above the STAR ATOMISER. Then all you do is make sure your targeting a player. Highlight the STAR ATOMISER then press UP and A. You will lose a MOON ATOMISER every time you do this.

The quick menu does not exist in Ver.1 so you can't do this. You would have to put Moons and Stars on your action pallete and do it the PB trick way.

It's +/- 10%, and this isn't a glitch.

For Obvious reason's you need a FROZEN SHOOTER equiped to do this. Use RESTA then quickly use the FROZEN SHOOTER's SPECIAL ATTACK to freeze a targeted player.

Frozen Shooter does not exist in Ver.1, and in Ver.2 only droids can use it, so Resta will not work. You have to use Star Atomizer.

Not a v1 code, but since the thread went lil. v1 off-topic I'll ask it here.

I remember seeing this code in a magazine many years ago and it also shows up in some cheat online websites:

Always find a rare weapon: Create a room called "psoallstars".

We all know that for some reason, PSO extracts something from what we type, eg. V1 dressing codes and V2 ending sequence by typing "uraending" at the tittle screen.

Would this mean that by that we would get rare drops activated?? Or is this just insane BS?

The "psoallstars" team name is one of the most long-lived fake tricks in the game. I even see people using it here on occasion, lulz. The stealth team trick, on the other hand, did work on Sega.
