Help, can't talk online.
I am hoping someone can help me here. I followed the installation guide step by step and for some reason i cannot talk online. I can use the word select options but that is it. If anyone knows of a way to solve this please help. Also i cannot type anything when i try to send simple mail as well as when making a game i must first click on the password option, then exit off , then it will allow me to type a name for the game i am creating. Weird.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Help, can't talk online.
Wing/Ren I think has the same problem. I had that problem a few times and all I had to do was click the mouse once. That kind of made the PSO app "more active" that it already was. I don't know how else to describe it.
Re: Help, can't talk online.
Tried that one. The first time i played i was just expecting to type and it would begin to appear on the screen like the dreamcast version but no. Thanks anyway. I know ren but ive packed up the dreamcast so if i did see him online i wouldn't be able to ask anyway. If you get chance ask how he solved it. Cheers

Re: Help, can't talk online.
Ok been having a long chat with ren kasumi (had to unpack my dreamcast ... again). He can't remember just like wing so he is having another crack at it as Kasumi has now got vista. The problem is remembering how to activate the japanese IME and as the walkthru for it has been removed due to blue burst now having a downloadable patch, ver 2 users are screwed for the time being . Ren is on the job though

Re: Help, can't talk online.
Ok finally got it to work. I didn't have time to test it earlier. A complete run down of what to do for vista home premium.
Firstly go to Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options -> Keyboards and Languages -> Change Keyboards
Then click ‘add’ and choose the ‘Japanese’ option.
Now select Microsoft IME under Japanese, Japan and click on Properties
Do the following:
1. General Tab:
*Set Space and Numeric Pad to Always Half-Width
2. Mixed Japanese/English Tab:
*Allow Conversion in Alphanumeric input mode
*There will be an error message saying "[Editing:Don't use direct input mode] will be OFF. Continue?" Confirm this with "Yes"
3. General Tab (Again):
*Set Default Input Mode to Half-Width Alphanumeric
*Confirm these settings with "Apply"
Go back to Change Keyboard
Now select the ‘Japanese (Japan) - Microsoft IME’ on the Default input language
With all that done just follow Ren Kasami’s method which is as follows:
Move the PSO screen once it has booted up fully.
Then when in the lobby press Left Ctrl, Left Shift, and 0 (as in zero) at the same time.
NOTE: This method only works for the windowed version of PSO v2 (can be downloaded from Schthack in the ‘download’ section)
Just want to thank Ren Kasami for the help and Ettanin (whoever you are) as i stole the instructions from a post on the old website

Re: Help, can't talk online.
Ah, having to include Japanese stuff in there, eh? THAT explains why Ren all-of-a-sudden starts texting in Japanese while we're in a game! ... and then curses the computer and then types in English.
Re: Help, can't talk online.
Don't use the windowed exe on the SCHTServ page, use the one in my downloads section. His windowed exe is ancient. You could also use deathrabbit's loader and patch window mode in memory, since you might want to play fullscreen in offline mode.
Re: Help, can't talk online.
Yeh good point aleron, i only discovered the schthack version yesterday and assumed it was better. Then when I could finally talk I realised I couldn't move. A small price to pay for human interaction
