I've used a fresh pso_pc_ives3 torrent, installed both disc images with powerISO, and created a backup folder for those original .exe's. I placed that folder elsewhere, not even in the sega program files. I then extracted the .exe's provided in the pso_pc_ives3 rar into the pso main game folder. I've disabled UAC, Windows Defender, and Windows Firewall on different properties. I then went into each of the .exe properties and have them running compatability mode for XP service pack 2, along with running them all as admin. I run autorun, as admin by right clicking, choose online play, then start game. I'm prompted to enter my sn/ak, which I've generated through sylverant account mgmt, which I copy and paste directly from the site. It them prompts me to verify, and then agree to an end user agreement of sorts, and then a window titled Program Update opens along with another window on info from the pso_pc release and other notes, but then doesn't respond and I receive an error type 3. I'm on Win10, if that's an issue. And not only have I RTFM, I've consulted Ives through a pm, and scoured through any forums dedicated to stchack to sylverant to dcemu that had a post pertaining to connecting pso to sylverant. If there's any suggestions, please help as I'm a dedicated player and would love to join everyone in playing online.

BlueCrab said he tested the patch server after the move, so neither of us know what's going on.

Can any PSO PC users who have already registered try to launch the game through the autorun and connect to the patch server to see if it works for them?

I've read something along the lines that I could bypass the sn/ak and then my char would be bound to the server, and in some instance sharing the same id as one that may already exist or is banned for some reason. If there is some bypass around registering, and I can still somehow connect to sylverant.net and use my char I have for offline, I'll do that if it means I'd get to at least group or partake in events.

Sylverant requires registration, as Guild Cards don't work correctly if you're unregistered.

I get the same thing as ender after I have put the new autorun into the pso folder. Have you tried to use the online/offline loader? Before you use it tho, you should use the ip patcher, which you can get from pc downloads. for ip, just put in sylverant.net. then try the online offline loader. It worked for me! Good luck!

The current pso.exe is already patched for sylverant.net, so ippatch.exe isn't necessary. You can't use the online/offline loader to play on Sylverant until you've registered your serials with the game, and you have to use the autorun to do that. Something must be wrong with the server, because online.exe is patched for sylverant.net, too. Neutral

Yes, but I get that same error, even tho I can get the loader to work. Maybe the serials are already registered when you get that error. Now may be the time to use the loader.

IIRC you can check your serials by viewing the options menu from the autorun, so if the serial field is blank, then you know you're not registered yet and can't use a loader to boot the game.

I understand I haven't registered my sn/ak, as when I try to by accessing "start game", not user reg, and the it prompts me to enter said sn/ak, which I've generated through sylverant acct mgmt. Once I enter that and my email, it asks me to verify which I do. It's when patching the client begins and tries to connect to sylverant.net that the error occurs. I am using everything in ives_pso_pc3 and tried again using links given to me by Ives through pm. It's got to be the online.exe and my OS. Again, all firewall, defender, and real-time protection was disabled each try. I'm aware of the offline/online.exe being a loader, but the autorun isn't I didn't think.

So... Did you check the options menu? If it is not blank, then you are registered and can now use the loader.

I have checked the options after running autoplay, and the area is blank where the sn/ak should be. I've tried going online for s's&g's, and it loads up to the lobby area where I get the message that I'm not registered, and I'm booted back to the game menu. I'm thankful for suggestions and I look forward to getting in there with ya'll.

Well, for lack of a better solution at present, you could try the online.exe for SCHTServ. Their patch server was dead for a long time, but it's possible Schthack fixed it when he brought the server online again. I don't think anybody plays V2 there anymore, but once your serials are saved to the game, you can play on any server you like.

Thank you Ives, I'm doing what I can. I've replaced the appropriate .exe's from schthack's download site, and tried to get a license from the "my hl" portion of their website. It's not at all like sylverant, and I might have made a mistake by entering in the only sn/ak I ever had which was generated through sylverant's acct mgmt. That may have been wrong, but I was never given another sn/ak after registration at schthack's site. I'm now receiving the "dns error, check network settings" At least it's a different error message. I've messaged a moderator for schthack about it, and we'll see. If only I could let someone knowledgeable have remote access and get this bologna done. I do hope sylverant's patch server is fixed, as maybe that'll be my ticket. Thanks for the response, chief.

You're receiving the DNS error from the autorun/online.exe and not in the game itself, right? If so, it sounds like they either never fixed the PC patch server (which wouldn't surprise me) or they never updated online.exe for their new host.
