Quest Error on Aleron Ives DC Iso

I found an error in the quest
«where we seek mag with elenor ( magnetude del metal ) First qst
at the end of the quest occurs an error and I have to unplug the pso and continue again
How to fix this?

Use a GD-ROM.

That bug is listed in the README file. All CD-R copies of PSO will freeze when loading character data outside of Pioneer 2, regardless of whether it's a real person in online mode or an NPC in an offline quest. Most offline quests are unplayable on a PSOv2 CD-R as a result.

I just wondered, do you have any idea why this bug occurs?

Is it something that could possibly be remedied in a 99minute cdi version? (a dummy track could make for potentially faster seeking).

Nobody knows the cause of the bug. The only thing we do know is that it doesn't happen on Ver.1. It's either a creative copy protection mechanism that Sega added to Ver.2 (to tie character loading to the speed of a GD-ROM, so when you use a CD-R the timing is off and causes crashes), or it's a general bug caused by building Ver.2 with a different revision of the Katana SDK than was used to build Ver.1. Not enough people are both familiar with SH4 assembly and have an interest in fixing the bug for anything to be done about it.
