Broadband without BBA or PC routing?
Hello friends...
as I am thinking about getting some other ISP which has the phone via voip i was searching for some stuff to use my beloved analog phone...
I came across little boxes calle "analog phone adapter", "internet phone adapter", "voip adapter" or similar. They simply have one ore more rj11 phone ports and one rj45 lan port. It basically provides phone lines you can use which are then port forwarded to the lan ports IP.
They are made to use analog phones on the internet and much more, to use analog faxed via broadband as voip faxes are rare and expensive... Then i thought... faxes... those sounds of my work fax reminds me on analog modem sounds,,, Hey!! That should work with my DC!
Well, I am not sure if it actually works but i now try to get one of theses at ebay. (about 20 Euros here, mostly with external 5V DC power supply so easy to use worldwide)
If it work it would be e real alternative to pricy BBAs.
Has someone already tried it or has one of these to give it a try?

Re: Broadband without BBA or PC routing?
Have you asked on other forums? I'm surprised that Ives hasn't commented on this yet.
Re: Broadband without BBA or PC routing?
I had no chance to test one as I have no money to "waste" atm and little time for PSO and fooling around with private projects.
They arem ment to be used for VoIP but i suppose they can be used for other purposes too (not easy to configure according to what i saw when you do not know exactly what you are doing)
The Cisco PAP2T is outdated so the prices are sometimes a bit high or its not easy to get... In Europe its like 30-40 Euros atm. It has an external DC power supply so it could be used in whatever region
I am thinking about switching my landline to VoIP, if i do i need one of those adapters anyway, if not i think about just getting one the next months to test out.
I am sure I will have to ask around the board for some IT cleverness on how to setup this magical piece to let me play pso with it once i got it... *g*
