Are you running in window mode or full screen? Have you tried a loader instead of the autorun?

need help Empty Same problem

Post  Baron_Von_Bullsh-t Sun May 20, 2012 3:20 pm

I'm actually having the same problem, i can get fullscreen to work, but like in my widescreen post i get those stupid black lines. So I'm just trying to play in windowed mode. None of which works, through the auto-run nor through Deathrabbits loader...It just shuts down completely. I've tried all of the windowed.exe's and still nothing. I'm at a complete loss. I'm running Windows 7 even tried compatibility settings and running as admin...Nothing >.<

If your graphics card supports 32-bit colour depth, you have to use that. If it only goes up to 24, you have to use 16, at least in XP and older versions of Windows.

You right click on the desktop, select properties, and then go to the advanced tab, usually.

Well i support a 32-color depth but how do i use this knowledge to play in windowed mode? Right now all the info you gave me are numbers and it still doesn't exactly help me accomplish this task XD.

The point is that if you weren't using 32 before, that's why it was crashing. If you were, then it's something else.

I see. Any ideas on how to resolve this? I mean I can deal with the bars for now, it's not the greatest of deals but still would be nice to fix it if it can be, if you or anyone else has any ideas. Thanks for the help regardless though. It's always appreciated.

Oops, I assumed it was crashing, which is the usual problem. I've never heard of the problem you're having, which is probably related to Windows 7 incompatibility. If you have the Pro or better version, you could try running PSO using the XP VM.

Well, when I do try in windowed mode, it does crash. The black bars are only in full screen mode but that's because PSO wasnt meant to run in wide screen HD format (from what I gathered in my "no widescreen" thread). and I just have windows 7 home premium..So..i dont think I can do any of that...

Perhaps you should try in win98 mode. The program runs well on a windows 98 machine. I run windows 7 home premium now, in windowed mode. And it runs fine, although it seems not so efficient on a 64 bit operating system. Every once in a while, when I try to resize the window, it crashes, saying the device driver couldn't handle it. After 1 or 2 retrys, though, it works. Maybe you should set the graphics on slightly lower quality in the options.

Are you talking about the PC version? You can mount the ISO files directly with tools like Virtual CloneDrive or DaemonTools. I think even MS makes software for that.

That's out of date. You can get the Torrent for my new discs on the main site. The old ones don't automatically connect, are less optimized, and have fewer fixes.

The Version you posted id for the Dreamcast (99% like the PC version) You need to burn it on lowest speed possible using discjuggler to run it on your dreamcast. If you want to play on PC you should have a look on the http://psopalace.sylverant.net Site and check the downloads for the PSO PC torrent.
