A new player with questions Empty A new player with questions

I finally decided to quit being lazy and actually register on this site. wwww

Anyway, I've been an old school player since the original on the DC and have been playing on and off for quite a few years. I had gotten the itch to play PSO a while back and was showed Schthack's server and loved playing PSOBB (I still have characters and an account on there though I don't play it much atm). But because of a lack of internet at home for the time being, I decided to reinstall PSOPC again.

I randomly found PSOPalace a while back and when I reinstalled PSOPC, I popped back in here and noticed that they had merged with Sylverant. Hence why I'm here now.

I have a few questions, though. First, on Sylverant's website, I had forgotten my old account password a while back (hell, I couldn't even remember what email address I used) and just decided to create a new account. I still had the access key and serial number that was generated on my other account (thankfully I did save those). Sadly this is the access key and serial number that is still registered on my PC version I play now. When I tried to register the key and number, it always gives me a cannot query the database error and won't add it to my new account. So I just generated a new key and number. Will I have to use the PSO serial changer to change that and the key?

Also, I don't know if this is due to the above problem, but when I do log into the Altimira server and try to check out the Events and VR sections at the Hunter's Guild desk, I always get a download error. I noticed that there is a new event going on now and am wondering how I'd be able to participate in that whenever I do have a chance to play online (like right now lol).

Nyahaha~~~ I really need to get together and play with people sometime. I just hope I don't have to uninstall and reinstall. Getting the SOUL EATER was a pain in the ass for my HUnewm. u.u

edit: Scratch the second part! I didn't realize deciding to play strictly PSOPC instead of allowing PSOv1 players could make the difference. rofl! Go me. *epic fail*

Yo!!

I hope so, too. I'm still low in lvl, but it's always fun playing with other people, that's for sure. =3

You don't have to select to make a strictly PSO PC team; you just need to select Ver.2 mode. Ver.1 has very few quests, because it's a much more limited game.

As for your serial problem, you probably can't register your old serial because it's still tied to your old account. BlueCrab might be able to unlink it for you, but if you use your new serial, you will have to either delete all your old characters or use the serial changer program to convert them to the new serial.

Glad to hear that you've decided to (re-)join the community. PM me with the old and new account information (just the username should be fine, or the Serial/Access key you used), and I'll remove the old account and add that key pair to your new account -- that way you'll be able to use either or.

Even if you don't want to be able to use the old SNAK anymore (i.e, if you've used the serial changer already), please let me know the old account info so I can remove it from the db.

Took me a little bit to find time to get back online. xD

That def makes sense. I'll have to keep that in mind whenever I'm setting up a game, nyahaha~~

And I'll pm you here in a sec with the information that I have (and/or can remember). I really appreciate the promptness, too. =)

Its no problem at all to merge the database information. Much easier than writing the server code. Laughing Anyway, everything's been taken care of now in merging the account information.
