Ingame videos
In this first post you will find from now on a List of the PSO videos i made.
I actually have to cut them in parts of 15 minutes, so i generated playlists for each session.
General videos i recorded on Sylverant
Easter Quest Frantic Fanua 27.03.2011 with Rolf & NORAKURO==
Hey,
i am just testing my HDD-Recorder to record some PSO gameplay.
Well it works pretty good (recording in HQ) with one single thing i don't like:
It only works on 50hz (causes the screen to turn greenish on 60hz) but i hope a firmware upgrade somehow might fix it, will try to contact the manufacturer soon.
The problem is, on 50hz i play like lagging a little all the time, slowing it all down.
Anyway, If anyone don't mind me lagging and would like sone nice videos of a legendary TTF-run, some questing or just celebrating in the lobby, i can now record and upload to my youtube if everyone is ok with that and post the link to it here.
This eve i am out for concert, but tomorrow feel free to catch me on MSN or skype (details below), I'll have them on, so just make some noise until i respond *g*

Re: Ingame videos
Looks you are on a PAL dreamcast, There should be a way to allow 60hz iirc. So try and do that .
lol@ttfruns, why not show Ives new quest?

Re: Ingame videos
hi, i can do 60hz pal on my dc, and can play content on 60hz pal, ntsc, secam whatever on the player, but it records not propperly on 60hz, seems to be a bug as the immage has a bit too much green...
I try to get a firmware update for the recorder somehow.

Hey Vamp, I don't mind being filmed if that means advertisement which will attract more players to the game

Re: Ingame videos
Hey,
I am up for some recording whenever you like and cross-platforming would be a good point for youtube promotion too Or if you just want to have not only a hero screen (as we did all using the pso vmu pic converter) but a whole ttf run video, i would not mind ever.
I am just sorry for not having it uploadae yet. the file is 1:45 hours and 7.5 GB HD quality (lol from 50hz pal, ill set to lower recording quality soon)
The problem is somehow i am unable to DL windows movie maker to my XP so i can cut the vid in 15 minutes pieces. Well, ill try the next days or have to find other video editors...

Re: Ingame videos
Considering the Dreamcast doesn't support HD, there's really no point in recording at a resolution higher than 640x480. You're just making the file larger with no increase in quality, unfortunately.

I know ... That were just the "default" settings i had setup. I missed to tweak them down before recording. Anyway, size doesn't matter as youtube now has an option to upload files up to 20 GB (but still no longer then 15 minutes. Windoze movie faker is a pain in the a.. as it refuses to show the video (which can be showed by all other players out of the box, even Windows movie player, which is used embedded in movie maker.... well i have to find some other cutting tool.
Anyone knows a good one?
Re: Ingame videos
I assume the recording is outputting video in H.264 format. I'm fond of VirtualDub for video editing, but you need to install some other tools for it to support H.264 video.
Re: Ingame videos
I think iMovie supports it if you have a mac lying around somewhere...

Re: Ingame videos
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Sorry, i only have a crappy windoze pc, no mac....
I tried some progs (which seemed to be free but were shareware, limited) and found free video dub on soundindepth homepage. its free can cut videos and save the result. It can not select parts and save only these parts but its free and works.
I am just uploading the first movies as i type, the rest should be up on thursday as i have no time tomorrow to do. but at least everything works now.

Re: Ingame videos
Windows isn't crappy, people just fail to utilize it well.

No I mean me actually talking and recording at the same time, so my voice is in it O_O
Re: Ingame videos
My recorders A/V IN is currently connected directly to the A/V OUT of my DC, so records directly what i see on screen while playing, nothing less, nothing more...
well, with another software making it possinble to add additional audio layers it would be possible to add some voice... when i get time ill try to get some other software but talking in pso ingame videos is not very pso-like. well if we use skype or teamspeak one day in a team, it could be interesting to add the audio log *g*
