both v1 and v2 saves on one card
this has baffled me for awhile now but what i would like to do is have a save from v1 and v2 on the same card. otherwise, v2 comes in and takes over. i know most of you may say "play v2 instead" but how my mind works is it sees the charm in the first version (since its the first dreamcast game i got) and thats the one thats more in favor, i would like to play v2 online though. im guessing my best bet is to buy one of those 800 block memory cards which is essentially 4 memory cards in one, and i can just switch the nob to a different sace. thanks

Ver.2 automatically assumes that if you have Ver.1 data on the VMU, you want to convert it. You can't have both versions on a single VMU. If you get 4M cards, make sure you get the official Sega ones. The third-party ones supposedly have a habit of corrupting PSO saves.

i deleted all the saves but my card hasnt crashed one bit, so im sure nothing will go wrong. isnt there a codebreaker code that will make v2 bypass checking for v1 save data? cause i know in the data theres v1 data and v2 data, v2 just erases the v1 data.

Re: both v1 and v2 saves on one card
A save is only compatible with that game. Ver.1 saves do not have "latent" Ver.2 data any more than Ver.2 saves have "latent" Ver.1 data. When you convert from 1 -> 2, the character is reformatted to Ver.2 specifications and cannot be reverted. Ver.1 characters cannot be played on Ver.2 without being converted first. The only vestige of Ver.1 that remains in a Ver.2 save is the Ver.1 serial number and access key, since it still has to match the flash.
