Ok.
I'll try to sum this topic up quickly. First things first, do you wanna play legit? If thats the case then you need to be careful in accepting the items of others online, as there are a lot of people who hack. You cant get hacked as a result of picking up hacked items. In extreme cases, there are items that can really screw up stats, but the likelihood of these items in existence with the population is like 0.001% anymore. If you don't openly pick up every item thats dropped by people you don't know on the server, you should be fine.

Either get all of your equipment yourself, or at the very least only accept items from people you know and trust if you want to avoid getting hacked items. Unless someone is giving away junk, you can be pretty certain that he wouldn't be giving out a super rare item unless he hacked it and thus it had no real value.

Essentially, any Version 2 Rare (Orange-Red Letters) Is likely a hacked item unless it is:

1) Someone you can trust on here to not give you hacked items

2) A quest-obtainable item (toy hammer and samba maracas to name a few) which if it has 0 percents or 30 percents. Though in this case it would probably just be pointless to obtain as you can get the item easily for yourself

3) A Red Handgun and/or Imperial Pick

There are other exceptions but these are the ones I often go by when online. S-ranks weapon (Custom name weapons) should be treated with extreme prejudice when openly given to you. I would not accept these items unless the person is known to be legit, these weapons are amongst the most hacked items on v2 (especially s-rank needles) and will 99% of the time be hacked if someone is just giving them away to random people.

Of course all of these things are assumed under the context that you are wanting to play legit, which I figured was the reason you had posted this in the first place. In the converse, if you wanna play for the hell of it and use bankmodded or hacked gear, then by all means have absolutely no prejudice in picking up every single item dropped by everyone, regardless of name, slots, or uber percents xD.
