It's also in the psopc definitive faq, which is found in a hyperlink from http://psopalace.schtserv.com/PSO_PC_Ives_ISOs_v2_README_online.html
the definitive faq to psopc
http://s7.zetaboards.com/PSO_SERVER_HOME/topic/266884/1/
also, you need to be way more specific in your question--we need to know as much info as is relevant, like your operating system, possible conflicts, etc...

ya know we would love to give you more definitive answers, but 50 minutes in between posts isn't exactly ideal time for a problem we can't see nor are even online to view in time to help you with, just sayin...

Re: Error??
If window mode closes immediately, it's likely due to an incompatible colour depth on your desktop. Right click on the desktop and select properties, then go to the advanced tab and check the depth. If you can change it to 32 bit, you must use 32. If you only have 16 and 24 bit options, you must use 16.
Re: Error??
Don't winxp and up default to the highest color depth if the monitor's native resolution is being used?

Re: Error??
The point is that if your highest supported depth is 24 bit true colour, you can't use it. You have to use 16 bit high colour instead, which is inferior, but the only way to make window mode work.
Re: Error??
@hypothetical comment/just curious
don't all monitors post 16-bit era support 32bit depth? I know you can use 24bit as maximum if there is no display adapter driver in windows xp on 1024x768, but that's all I can think of that would use it...
[p.s. this doesn't have to do with the main point--I understand, it's weird that pso only supports the best and worst 2 color depths of the 32bit era)
