Well... I just ordered a copy of PSOGC+ a few days ago only to have the purchase refunded the next day because it was out of stock...

*sigh*

Would've been such a good deal too.

Either way, I suppose I'll order myself a copy of PSOGC and the BBA now... but I am wondering if I can still play Fake in Yellow on the non-plus version. I want that Tails Chao! Razz

The offline quests are the same on all PSO GC discs. The only difference is that PSO+ has East Tower, West Tower, and I think Seat of the Heart by default, although I might be wrong about the last one.

Well PSO-World says the GBA quests are only available offline in the plus version. But then, it's PSO-World, so... Laughing

I have all the quests from the regular version, and they seem to have GBA crap in them, so I think PSO-W is wrong as usual.

Sadly, you won't get a reply for serials. They can only be generated while the server is online, and since it is down until further notice, no serial request will receive a reply. Sad

Hi, I just registered to the forums and am trying to download pso from the front page torrent. I can't seem to find any seeders for this torrent though, is this the only torrent you guys actively have?

It has started to download now, slowly, but it is finally going. It may be a problem on my end with the recent hurricane hitting around here it may have affected my internet connection.

There are multiple trackers, so you may have to try various ones until you find one that people are using to seed. Enabling the DHT probably helps, too.

There are probably about 50 people playing worldwide, out of which half a dozen at most may be online at any one time. What do you expect from a game that's more than a decade old? Only the most dedicated players remain. Cool

They aren't playing the same game as we are. Theirs is newer and more attractive to people unfamiliar with the original game.

Re: New users

Post  Little Vamp on Sat Jul 28, 2012 11:16 am

Last time i was on schtack, it was like 100 players on Blueburst, 10 on Gamecube, 5 on PCOv2 (PC) and 2 (including me) on dreamcast. Community is not that "familiar". Not easy finding friends to play with, on cube its ok, but DC? .... Well, there were big arguments why nearly all DC player switched to Sylverant.

After schtack left the program, crono tried to do a good job, but there is a big lack of support esp. for dreamcast users. You soon get the feeling as only beeing "tolerated" on DC, "accepted" if you are on cube and really "welcome" on blueburst. I tried blueburst once on that server, it's kinda fun, but if you make a break for longer than a month, you character will be deleted...

Well stick to this server if you want the real game with a stable server (which schtack is by far not) with regular updates and an admin who cares about the server and Ives as a GM / co-admin? hosting a dedicated ship for the Dreamcast players and supporting us with fast responses / help on this board.

This forums are really inactive as well. What the difference between the versions?

Do you have two forums or what? There are one at dcemulation.

Re: New users

Post  Little Vamp on Tue Jul 31, 2012 3:28 pm

It's summertime, i assume most are on vacation or end of semester...

The differences of the pso versions...

Dreamcast PSOv1
Dreamcast PSOv2 : Like v1 but added Items and new Ultimate difficulty mode
PSO PC: 99,9% like PSOv2
Gamecube PSO Episode I+II: Like PSOv2 (which appears as Episode I) but some items don't appear as the are DC only. Some new items and new areas in Episode II
Gamecube ESO Episode III card revolution: Trading card game only, no RPG at all.
PSO BlueBurst (PC): Online only, Character will only be saved on the server, includes Episodes I, II and IV
PSO 2 (PC): Complete new game about to be release 2013

That should be it in general. If you have a DC you should use PSOv2, there are torrents on psopalace.sylverant.net for an enhanced disc. If you prefer the windows version (xp/w7 friendly) just use the PC torrent and load the needed exe files.

This Board is the one of the DC/PC ship Altimira which is managed by Aleron Ives and regularly visited by Blue Crab. The one at dcemulation is the one of the Sylverant server managed by Blue Crab.

Re: New users

Post  BlueCrab on Tue Jul 31, 2012 3:49 pm

This forum pre-dates Sylverant itself. Of course, this is more of a gathering place for players of the Dreamcast v1/v2 and PCv2 versions of PSO. It just so happens that with Sylverant's rise from nothingness that Aleron Ives and myself decided it would be a good idea to host a ship at Sylverant for PSO Palace.

However, the Sylverant forum at DCEmulation pre-dates the Altimira ship on Sylverant, and any direct cooperation between this community and my project.

Basically, there's three places where you might see talk of Sylverant around the Internet: the DCEmulation forum (where I am an administrator, hence why I host the forum there), here, and at DC-Talk (they're responsible for the Vega ship on Sylverant).

Post  Blu on Fri Mar 21, 2014 11:04 am

Hey All,

I'm Blu. I know you probably don't get many new users, but I thought I'd say hello. I've been on Block 1 of the server for the past few days. I have a RAmar named RedSpaz that I've been grinding away with. I might recreate a RAmar and plot through some levels in the time coming. I wish I could rename RedSpaz but I want to keep being legit and not use a trainer or something to rename my character.

So if you see me online, say hey!
