no idea. just wanted to see if that ip is still valid, and I guess it is. I thought it was weird tho, when I first saw it, that the hl ip was up but the name was not.

There are two HL servers, the old one and the new one. The new one has no name.

did I ping the old one?
if yes, then can old pso somehow tap into the new one?

The new server is the one that stopped working in 2007. I think the SSL certificates expired in it or something, but it doesn't really matter why it doesn't work anymore since it doesn't work anymore.

so being able to ping it is to be expected?
