I've actually put out three editions of the Resist Mod, but soon the final one will be deprecated for those who want to use Ludicrous mode. Resist Mod 2.0 merely changes resistances to be more fair to Forces, but the new difficulty makes the game more challenging for HU/RA. Rather than keep the same HP values on the monsters, I boosted monster HP and lowered the resistances to 0 the way they are in Very Hard. Forces will hit for 400+ damage with their Techniques in Ultimate, but the 40% HP increase means that they won't kill everything in in 2 hits. (It actually will take 6 hits to Rafoie Bartles for FOmarl, 5 for FOnewearl.) Techniques will be good for dealing damage, and HUmars won't be able to rape Bartles in 2 hits with their Imperial Picks anymore. Wink

Sounds good here. I'll probably start a search, to see if I can find my serials this weekend sometime. I do have a pile of old cd's and old notebooks in a few boxes from my move, that I need to go through eventually anyways. It might be in there, so we'll see. I don't got my old controller I could plug in to the usb port anymore though. Sorta loaned it to a friend some years back and he has since moved to some university up north. So I'm gonna have to play with the keyboard which I was never particularly fond of. Well we'll see if I can locate those serials, doubt I'll do much playing if I have to start over again.

I dunno what controller you used to use, but for me the Xbox 360 controller works quite well, partially because of the transfer from dreamcast to xbox a while back anyway. May be worth looking into that at least temporarily?

Well, found my install disks I made for PSO, but no serials. And my computer here does run it, although it is a bit laggy. I'll jus have to play with the settings to see if I can get it to run a bit smoother on this thing. And nixxing a couple of unessential processes in the task manager will probably help as well.

I did play a bit with a new char today though, and egads was it horrible using the keyboard hehe. Thats gonna take a lot of getting used too.

As for my old controller, it was something I got out of a garage sale for a dollar, only slightly used too. Essentially a playstation controller that plugged into an usb port. So I'm not sure where to get another though, haven't seen any in my local walmart either. So I will probably have to do some online shopping for one. And thanks for the xbox controller tip. Didn't think about that hehe.

I like using the Dualshock 2, it's much better than the Xbox controller IMO.

Dualshocks feel too small. I like the xbox controller's feel. It fits my hands more smoothly.

Maybe I just have small hands. Razz At any rate, I prefer buttons to triggers, and the layout of the Dualshock is more efficient. Xbox is too spread out.

You're holding it wrong then Wink

I use the PS3 sixaxis controller. Aside from ther trigger buttons (which arn't needed for pso) its an excellent controller. And i think they had something with the left analogue stick being below the D-pad, it just feels better that way compared to Xbox, Gamecube, Dreamcast etc. (and it makes it easier for FPShooters, as the analogue sticks are adjacent to eachother, but that doesn't matter for pso)

I used to use just mouse and keyboard. I didn't notice any real difference, except its more difficult to access the quick menu whilst moving.

PSO needs controllers. The keyboard and mouse suck. Too inaccurate. I knew someone who used it for years and still had trouble aiming.

Holding it wrong? I hope you're joking. I don't know how I can hold something wrong, when it doesn't fit my hands well in the first place.

Tazz was the only person I knew who was a fully competent player using the keyboard and who thought PSO had brilliant controls.

I'm well, although I don't believe we've met or played together. That wouldn't surprise me, as I rarely can get on the only Windows computer in my house. That should change over the summer when I get my laptop, so hope I can make your (and everyone else's) acquaintance then. Smile

Ives, does this mean the patch to win PSO is right around the corner?

All I can say is cheers .

Are you gonna somehow find a way to write that into the PSOPC torrent, or would that be too much with having to reseed the torrent and everything/impossible/Not something you want to do anyways?

Please not a torrent Sad

My internet at uni is weird, it blocks all torrents. To actually d/load pso i had to ask my mate to do it for me.

Although i suppose that depends on how big the file is... but only editing stats, drop rates etc. it can't be that big right?

I actually meant write it into the regular torrent and just ignore the old torrent. I'm pretty sure Ives is distributing this through a patch that you just apply somewhere or another.

I also recall there being a "patch" screen right before you start up PSOPC. Can that be utilized in any way?
