Controller question

how do i sync up a controller to my pc?

ive tried with a 360 controller and that doesnt seem to work at all like i thought.
since all the usb cable does with a pc is charge the controller

you have to download drivers for you're specific controller. i'm using a playstation 3 Sixaxis controller connected by USB. basically i just google'd sixaxis driver and got what i needed. that was awhile ago when i first started installing emulators for old consoles.

for a 360 controller it should be a lot easier. microsoft has their own driver for it right here:

[edit] i just noticed that this driver is for 64-bit windows. if you have 32 bit it probably wont work. if so, see if they have another one there for 32bit.

The official drivers won't let you use the triggers as buttons though, so if you want to use them, you'll need third party drivers like XBCD I think it's called.

well i went ahead and set up my ps3 controller to my pc instead
but i dont know how to get it to work with the game
i know this is getting a bit off-topic but could either of you give me a quick tutorial on setting this up?

well ive tried to use that driver a couple of times now but it doesnt do anything for me
it was already recognizing the controller before i tried
my PC recognizes the controller but the buttons arent showing up when i try to test it
im using windows vista 64bit

i found a wired 360 controller and everything is working fine now.
