Registration question

Post  ImportantGuy on Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:03 am

i just recieved my serial and key but i had a problem registering. i mailed shthackserv back about it but i figured it might get solved a little quicker if i posted it here. i'm bloodthirsty damnit Razz

so i go to 'start game' and i enter in my info and confirm it and it gives me this garbage:

know where i can download the patch from? i didn't see anything for this in the PSO PC download section. i'll brace myself for flaming now since i've got a feeling the answer to this is really simple.

[edit] in case you were wondering, when i clicked autorun the second time to check if it had my serial and key at the bottom, it did not. i actually did get myself onto skyline ship by starting with online_offline.exe, but i was wondering if not having registered properly was going to be an issue

also hi my name's dan. i played PSOv1 on dreamcast a looong time ago and i really miss it. i shat bricks when i saw you guys had a private server up. i've got my ps3 controller set up with it and everything Very Happy

i may invite friends yet...

Hello there and welcome to psopalace! Very Happy

I am aware of this problem as my bro had the same issue trying to connect and unfortunately he could not configure it to work, I remember it happening right after he set up his serial and access key, the common cure for this is that you make sure your net settings are set to LAN and not dial-up but frankly this hasn't worked for every situation, I'm sorry I can't really give a better answer than that but perhaps Ives can help a little more, This may not have anything to do with the problem but maybe not registering the serial stuff and accessing the server may work? This is really the only suggestion that I can really give that may have any possibility of working, but the odds are slim for that, best of luck though Sad

Aside from ensuring that PSO is set to LAN mode in the options, did you replace online.exe? If it's trying to connect to Sega's patch server, you obviously won't ever get it to work. Laughing

well i'm not sure what it was, but i was able to log into the schthack server without doing it. however upon getting there and chatting with some people, it has become apparent that there isn't a soul still playing pso pc online. that disappointed me, but those i spoke to notified me of pso blue burst which is what they were all playing. after a quick installation and patching, i got that working real quick. plus its got a bunch of episodes of pso that i never played back in the days when it was just dreamcast. so i've decided that i'm gonna play that instead, and i'm amazed i didn't see anything at pso palace about downloading and installing that for free since its so much better Rolling Eyes

anyway i suppose i wouldn't have found it without the help of this site anyway so thanks to you all

p.s. do any of you play BB?

There is a reason why we dont, often times V2 and DC players tend to dislike Blue Burst simply because there is quite a different mentality involved that V2 and DC very much hate and that is the hunting mentality. Many of the V2 players do not carry this mentality due to the idea that V2 has much more rigorous drop rates for rares so therefore there is no real point to hunt endless hours for an OMGSHINYWEAPON. Dont get me wrong there are people on BB that don't use this mentality but majority of the community on there are often doing this exact act. Its up to you whether you want to play Blue Burst or stay on V2 but understand that there are very different mentalities when playing either game. Also those new episodes you were mentioning are pretty much reskins of episode 1 and a few new different textures. Its unfortunate that you choose not to play V2 here but if you choose to play Blue Burst we cant stop you, hope you enjoy everything the community has to offer, but please dont post here about Blue Burst at all, this forum is one that focuses on V2 and DC and several people here greatly dislike Blue Burst so it would be preferable that you refrain from doing so.

That's like saying you can't believe a site devoted to Soul Calibur doesn't mention Soul Calibur 2, when 2 is "so much better". Rolling Eyes This site isn't about BB; there are those of us who don't like piss easy enemies and cheap 1 hit KO faggotry.

well now you've all got me curious. i haven't had time to play BB at great length so i can't yet see what you are talking about, but it sounds as though you've all got some good points. plus i'm playing this game for nostalgia and thus i don't need anything different from before; if i want to play a new game i could just play borderlands or something etc. i also don't want to have to learn a crapload of new things about the best items and mags and how to obtain them ya know? from what i played last night i feel too much has changed in BB, i don't feel comfortable with it like before.

i'll consider staying and playing v2 with you guys, but the first thing i want to know is how many people still play it. it'll be pretty hard to convince myself to stay with you guys if theres only 10 or so people left. like i said when i showed up at the lobby there wasn't a soul there playing pso pc. they were saying 'you're about 4 years too late to play pso pc'. i don't want online to feel just like offline you know Razz

if there's at least 3 pso pc players online during most of the week, i'm sold. but if it's only gonna be one good team a week or less, well.... you know what i'm saying.

The more people willing to stick it out, the larger the community will be, lulz.

i found some people on tonight and played with them all day. great fun. i also like that this one works a bit better with my controller, and windowed doesn't have to be so small either. i'll stick with it.

i'm also going to invite a friend of mine too
