This caught my attention big time, considering I have very little access to dial-up.

Apparently, from what I could skim in half a minute due to having an overly excessive amount of homework, it's a DC/PC server which can, from what I'm understanding, convert your broadband internet into a Dial-up connection for the Dreamcast. Before you get too excited, it's only compatible with Windows 98 and possibly WindowsME. It says that there are problems with Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Any updates on this? Obviously, not many of us have computers running Windows 98 anymore (although my grandparents have one down at work, so if they actually happen to update after 11 years, I might try and snatch that up). Did it actually perform as well as the guide said it did, because it said it was compatible with PSO. Due to having just recently starting a PSO v1 file (and what in the world have I been missing?!), this could be quite handy if it turns out to be true.

At this point, it might almost be cheaper to buy a Windows 98 computer than a Dreamcast BBA. =P

I'm hoping this isn't one of those topics that prove how stupid and out of date I am. I'd bet all of my math homework that it is though.

It *can* work, (even on 2K/XP), but getting it to work is a bitch, and even when it does, it usually causes lots of lag as well as frequent disconnects. Depending on the modem in your Dreamcast, you may or may not need a voltage line simulator, and your PC also has to have a voice modem. You won't be able to get it to work unless you are either well versed in how networking and modems work, or you have someone who is an expert helping you. If you want to bring the Dreamcast online, it's far easier to just get a dial-up ISP or a BBA.

That's a bummer. It wouldn't really be that convinient to have a bulky Windows 98 lying on my bedroom floor next to the armoir that holds the Dreamcast with even more cables running around anyways, but eh. Shame more work wasn't put into this, but it's probably one of those things where they were at the point where any more work would be nerve wracking or that was the best it could be.

I might look into an ISP, but I probably purchase use it every month, let alone use it often due to also not having a phone in my room. I don't think my company has backup dialup, either. Shame. My grandmother has dialup, but she lives about 8 hours away, so we only visit once or twice a year. I guess that's still once or twice a year I can get on though.
