Darn...
XD I probably will never be able to play online untill I reach college.
But that's a maybe, I can probably get a connection to the game if I can connect my PC to the laptop's internet with a network card. But I don't have one yet, I have 96 bucks worth of spending and 40+ of it is going into The Conduit. (The BEST wii 1st person shooter out there, and I don't have anything except a Wii and DS, plus computer)

Huh...
Well, a USB I have serves as an access point or a Wi-Fi network, but I don't think you can connect directly with it.

Re: Anyone still play anymore?
I lied when I said I was getting my laptop in August. I couldn't wait and just got it yesterday. I could even be on PSOPC in a couple of days, but it depends. I still need to decide how much hard drive space to partition to Mac and how much to Windows. It's a 250 GB hard drive, so I'm thinking maybe 100 GB to Mac and 140 GB to Windows, assuming 10 GB is taken up by the systems. Mac's going to be the World of Warcraft/Media/Hexedit/Generic browsing side, and Windows is for everything else.

i see
@ Flash: if a wireless card is connected to your usb port as you say (or at least what im understanding) provided you have a router, you should be able to connect with no problem at all, barring no password protection on the aforementioned router unless you know the code for that scenario. Simply put, if you can go on the internet using this usb adapter, you should be able to go on pso. Again this is if im understanding correctly
@Furrypaws: cool, hope to see ya online sometime, I have a vhard force im raising up painfully slow so if you see her or any of my characters online feel free to ask for a game

Unfortuanately...
I don't have a wireless router. The usb adapter serves as either a way to USE a wireless router or make a virtual Wi-Fi access point, which requires an already active internet connection.
IF it were possible to connect a Verizon Aircard- the one where you can use the internet on a plane- then it might work. HOWEVER, I haven't tested that theory and honestly, if I try to connect a Wi-Fi compatable device to it normally, it's not detected.
If theres any... oh, $50 or less wireless routers, that'd be great, but how would I get internet access without a provider? (Unless Wi-Fi networks don't require a internet provider, like Bellsouth)

Well thats....confusing
thats confusing, you must have an internet connection since you are able to get on the internet, now wifi means wireless access through a wireless router, which you mentioned you didnt have. I'm then going to assume that you have your internet access computer connected via ethernet into the back of this computer in order to access the web. So you already have internet, the step required to get online would then be to either get a router so you can use your USB adapter to connect to the router, or run an ethernet cable to your computer, in most cases, laptops have wireless cards to connect to the internet, desktops usually require the purchase of an adapter, but one thing im curious about is this, is the adapter you are referring to the aircard you mentioned? or is it something different, because if so, im not sure if you could connect properly to a wireless network anyway using just that card

It's more like this...
Offline Comp I play PSO on+USB Wi-fi Adapter+Verizon Aircard=No connection
Offline Comp I play PSO on+USB Wi-fi Adapter+Wirelss Router (that I don't have)= POSSIBLE connection
Offline Comp I play PSO on+Ethernet Cable=Definite Connection, but there is no phone line anywhere to use as a provider
It looks like I'm stuck unless I get a Router, but my dad probably won't allow it.

hmm i see
I agree option 2 is your best option, its worth a shot to ask, I was lucky enough to upgrade due to my family having laptops and with a wireless router and with it we would be able to move about the house. Best of luck though!

Re: Anyone still play anymore?
You could try saving up your money from allowance if you're one of the lucky ones who actually get allowance or doing household chores (even if they aren't from your house) for money to speed up the process. Baby sitting or lawn mowing can bring in the cash fast. If your dad still doesn't want you to purchase the router with money you've earned yourself, then as long as he's paying for the internet, the roof you live under, and the food you eat, I think that it's fair that he gets his way, even if his way isn't necessarily justified.
I know living with a stubborn father can be tough from personal experience though. Good luck with whichever option you decide to pursue, and remember, if you get angry/frustrated with your father, shouting at him will only make the situation much, much worse (I'm sure you knew that though).
Oh, and one final note. Just so you're aware, PSZ is much like PSO version 1 with lesser graphics. It's more meant to be a miniature, portable version of PSO than it is a new one.

Re: Anyone still play anymore?
If by pwn, you mean are ridiculously broken...well, you do, so yes.
I didn't really mind the walking style. If I recall, I thought it was funny that they like straddled with every step, but it's been a couple weeks since I last booted up.
Oh, and I got PSOPC installed. Rather than start with a HUnewearl, I'm going with FOmarl. I'm going to raise my HUnewearl on DC v1, and see if it might be possible (it turns out we actually DID have dial-up access all along
) to transfer her over to PC when I'm ready, which will probably be a little bit after I beat Falz on VH.
Anyways, SLOWmarl's name is Lady Serena. Once I get my serials, I'll be sure to hop on for a game now and then. Normally I prefer playing through all of the game first, but this will be an exception, as first time Forces are kinda tough to raise.
