PSO --»BETA«-- Wanna Have it?

So I know of a guy who's selling a few PSO Dreamcast GD betas.

The most interesting he has for sale is 250$, and features the following:

"One of the V1s does not have the video for the opening scene, but instead a picture of the Pioneer 1 explosion with the story displaying on the screen. Pretty neat. Also, you can directly go in to VH at level 1 and some of the enemies do not attack you, but rather stand still. Unfortunately though, they don't give you any EXP. Oh, and if you get to Falz, you can kill him in 1 hit, but it's tricky to kill him on his last form, because the game freezes up if you don't hurry and hit him. It's right when he's about to do his Grantz attack on you."

The ideia is that if we gather quite all this money I, or another trusted member from the PSO scene, could buy it and rip it in orther to share with everyone.
Be quick, and spread the word, as it may get sold quickly.

Does he have a site of any kind? I'd like to get ahold of all of them. For example, some of the beta videos show characters with different animations, and there's that one where you can actually interact with the environment by pushing those logs in Forest 1.

How many you willing to give for it? I guess I could spend 50$... You should talk with Crono and a few other guys into the scene.

I probably wouldn't go higher than 50$ either. We'll need more people. I have the ability to rip it, but who could turn it into a selfboot CDI so everyone could play it? >_>;

So we currently "have" 100$. Hmm... maybe we should only release this to those who donate something, even if it's 1$, so most people should not be waiting for us to spend our cash, and get it for free

Since when? Lee tells me that PSO has protection in it. You have to do stuff manually to make it work because it's extra picky about being copied. This might only apply to Ver.2, though.

Ups, I din't know about that... tought the selfboot thing would work for all DC games.
Altough, we're not sure if this beta have protection, and even if it does who cares about this?
We can always use a boot disk or have a modchip.

Hmm, Putting together the obvious we can say this guy is a registered student or faculty member at Indiana's Purdue University. His other e-mail address is registered through a BB ISP service based in NY, N.Y.. The association with Purdue, size and variety of goods in his collection, and various comments in his posts are a strong indication that he has money to spare and then some.

I'd say there's a good chance of the GD-R's containg the beta/testing versions of the game he claims they do.

However, based on the profile of him i've come up with, I find it highly dubious that he will be willing to part with any item in his collection, least of all a beta disc.

If you guys really feel that gaining possesion of one of those discs will help to improve the overall quality of Schthak's, then by all means put me down for $50 too.

AFK he's not selling all his PSO betas. Just 2 or maybe 3 if I am not mistaken.

I got a message form him:

"I thought about it, and it would be foolish of me to sell only one of my V1s. Since I have two, if I sold one and it gets distributed everywhere, that significantly decreases the amount of the other one I have, so I'm gonna hold out for now.."
