Forum Skin

Post  Aleron Ives on Tue Mar 25, 2008 2:05 am

As you can see this skin is not PSO related. Razz This is a skin from the Forummotion skin site, and I modified the banner to my own. If anyone knows how to fix it so that the banner doesn't cover the text, I'd appreciate input. n.n;

I currently have requested Siku to create a PSO-themed skin for the forum, but if anyone else wants to help in some way just post.

May be because the banner you placed doesn't have the same size as the original themed one?

It's definitely taller, but I don't have a banner that's as small as the original which is barely more than 50px tall. D:

Can't you just stretch the PSO one?

I'm going to work on it some more today. However, there are quite a few things on this forum skin I didn't realize was even possible to add/edit. Forummotion doesn't give me the option to edit templates unfortunately so what and how I can skin is really limited.

This is what I've come up with thus far, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :

I'm trying to make it look PSO V1/2 UI-ish as possible without using the same images as other PSO forums.

EDIT : Here's a little screen of some of the things guests can't view :

I think the colour scheme may need changing, the easiest would be to not use the PSO background I suppose. The blue on blue makes it a bit too... blended IMO lol.

If wanted, I can make the PSO background any Color, Dark, Lighter. Or I can even make a gradient similar to the one on this skin. What do you think is personally a good background color? It's going to be a skin for your forum so anything you say goes lol.

It's also not too much trouble to change the colour scheme to better match the current PSO background as well, if that's what you really had in mind instead.

Thanks Treamcaster, I appreciate that. You must be a long time player over at schtserv because I'd like to think I'm not so well known nowadays. Only really known by the long time PSOPC players prior to BB going public. 90% of the schtserv community is now BB players.

Back On-Topic, I didn't get a chance to work on the skin today but I'll spend some more time on it tomorrow. Sorry about it taking so long Ives, I'm drawing blanks for ideas and forummotion's restrictions aren't helping much either lol.

Ya welcome dude Wink That's right, I am a PSO hardcore fan, been playing since the game was released, played it on the Sega servers...
I really appreciate your work, not only because it's good, but also due to the fact that I would like to get into the "webdesign" someday.. just don't know very well where to start, hehe..

Well I'm not very good with aesthetics myself. Razz If we keep the tile background then I think the window colours need to be lighter, but if we remove the tile background or change its colour so that it's lighter that would also work and probably be easier and preferable.
